Taiwan humpback Dolphins
The Second International Workshop on the Conservation and Research Needs of the Indo-Pacific Humpback Dolphins, Sousa chinensis, in the waters of western Taiwan took place in Changhua City, west-central Taiwan last week.
Amongst the delegates was Wild at Heart Legal Defense Association's Robin Winkler, a Taipei based lawyer. Robin Winkler gave a presentation on the Environmental Impact Assessment process in Taiwan. Much of what Winkler said goes a long way into explaining how projects like the Hushan Dam Project are able to get pushed through the EIA process.

Well known Taiwan based blogger, Michael Turton (The View from Taiwan), attended the workshop last Wednesday. See Michael Turton's Pacific Humpback Dolphin Workshop post about the workshop and Winkler's presentation.
