What an excellent idea! Eco-tourism is always one of the ways to promote conservation and to generate economy for the local people (win-win for both sides)...as long as it's done in a well-planned agenda.<br /><br />I will definitely be following the development, and maybe see it for myself when I go back to Taiwan in the future.

Taiwan is already marginalized within international community. Therefore, I hardly think they will become further isolated by their few diplomatic allies who gain from their dollar diplomacy. The grassroots environmental movement has failed to change anything. Taiwan is all about economic development at whatever the cost.

I am a Wildlife Carer in Western Australia. I honestly believe the human race has a lot to answer for. We are destroying the habitat of many wildlife creatures. In the case of the Fairy Pitta, one has just spent several days in the backyard of a house in Derby, far north of W.A. If it wasn't for the likes of the Husham Dam this would not have happened. Please stop the development.

Right on Naruwan. Taiwan has one of the highest levels of biodiversity per square on the planet so should really start trying to promote itself. On the birding side, where else can one go to see all these different species of birds from different climatic zones all in one area. Imagine the distances one would have to travel on mainland Asia to see so many climatic zones.
